People share loving photos of #TwoMenKissing after Orlando massacre
After Sunday's shooting tragedy, the hashtag #twomenkissing has sprung up for those wanting to show solidarity with the survivors and grieve those who lost their lives.
The motivations for Omar Mateen's crime, killing 50 people including himself, and injured 53 at Pulse, one of Orlando's premiere gay nightclubs, is still slowly becoming known. But Mateen's father, Seddique Mir Mateen, told NBC News that he believe his crime may have been motivated by homophobia. A few months before, Marteen allegedly erupted in anger after he saw two men kissing. In response, people from all across the world have been sharing photos of #TwoMenKissing, hoping to fight fear with loving displays of defiance.
Mateen's father believes his motivation was driven more by that homophobia than religious ideology.
