Here are the 2023 Oscar nominations
The nominations for the 95th Academy Awards have arrived, celebrating (and also snubbing) the best films of 2022.
Everything Everywhere All At Once leads the pack with 11 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and four acting nods. Other frontrunners include The Banshees of Inisherin and All Quiet on the Western Front, both with nine nominations each.
However, this year's nominees may be outweighed by some truly egregious omissions. Gina Prince-Bythewood's historical epic The Woman King got shut out entirely, as did Jordan Peele's Nope. Danielle Deadwyler, the heart of Chinonye Chukwu's Till (also shut out), was snubbed in the Best Actress category when by all accounts she should have been a frontrunner. With these snubs, the Academy continues to fail Black filmmakers.
