UPDATE: June 28, 2018, 3:06 p.m. EDT The hero is named Wrecking Ball and the little hamster piloting it is named Hammond. Check out the hero details on the Overwatch website.

Overwatch's 28th hero is a hamster.

Oh, I'm sorry, does that sound ridiculous? Does it sound like I'm making a joke? I'm not. The newest hero is a hamster in a death ball.

Take a look:

Overwatch's latest upcoming hero was first teased on Monday with a short clip showing the hero rolling through a ratty looking alleyway. People immediately began speculating about what kind of hero this could be, with some thinking it could be a new omnic like Bastion and others dreaming up a sort of ball suit for one of Winston's fellow apes from the Horizon Lunar Colony.

Nope. It's a hamster.

We don't know anything official about this hamster and its death ball yet, but we can surmise a few things from these short teasers.

First, this hero will probably be pretty fast, likely able to switch back and forth from its quick rolling mode and its more offensive mode where it busts out a pair of guns.

Second, the hamster itself seems to be pretty intelligent and is likely piloting this death ball without any outside help. Perhaps this hamster was genetically engineered like Winston and possesses the knowledge to build death balls.

Third, this hero was likely inspired by development team's early ideas for a hero that's a cat with a jetpack. Yes, that's a thing.

As for this hero's name, its background, and its abilities, we'll have to wait and see what Blizzard reveals.
