Paul Bettany would make a great 'Star Wars' space pirate, FWIW
Another scruffy-looking nerf herder has joined Ron Howard's Han Solo movie.
The Alden Ehrenreich-starring spin-off story, which follows a younger, pre-A New Hope Solo, will now feature the talents of Paul Bettany. Howard himself confirmed the news in a tweeted photo of himself with a downright roguish-looking Bettany.

"The Outer Rim just got a little bit wilder," Howard wrote, referring to a remote section of the Star Wars galaxy where smugglers and pirates -- i.e. Han Solo's people -- tend to congregate. There's no word on what Bettany's role will be, or if his face will be hidden away behind terabytes of digital makeup.
It's another high-profile addition to a cast that also includes Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Joonas Suotamo. Howard took over as director in June 2017 after The Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller bowed out, citing "creative differences."
The Han Solo movie doesn't have a confirmed title yet, but it's currently set for release on May 25, 2018.
