These colleges produced the most Peace Corps volunteers this year

The Peace Corps has a long history, and the organization is hell bent on staying relevant in the 21st century.

It seems to be working: In 2015, the Peace Corps received more than 23,000 applications — a 40-year record — from Americans looking for volunteer positions around the world. Now that positions have been filled, the organization is recognizing the schools that produced the most volunteers.

The most volunteer-producing schools tend to differ from typical prestigious schools lists.

“The Peace Corps is a unique opportunity for college graduates to put their education into practice,” said Peace Corps Director Carrie Hessler-Radelet.

To tease the announcement of the top schools, the Peace Corps joined Snapchat on Wednesday (username: peacecorps).
