Don’t send an unsolicited dick pic. Get a scale penis poster for your wall instead.

It's for a good cause.

Why send a dick pic when you can just hang an arty, custom poster of your own penis on your wall for all the world to see?

That's what a group of, err, passionate people from Sweden are aiming to achieve with The Penis Poster. The project's main aim is to put a stop to men sending unsolicited dick pics by "offering a new outlet for their penis pride." All the proceeds from the project will be donated to the UN gender equality initiative HeForShe.

To make your custom penis poster, you can choose from a variety of design options like, "line art flaccid," "watercolour erected." You then need to submit your "penis attributes" and a scale illustration of your penis will be manually created. The penis posters are printed in Sweden on high quality 50 x 70 cm matte paper.

So, what exactly is the idea behind filling people's homes with posters of people's dicks?

Linda Backström, designer at The Penis Poster, says the idea is to provide an alternative for men who want to share their penis with the world. "‘You do you’ and all that, but keep your penis offline," Backström.

"Men love their penises. There’s nothing wrong with that, quite the opposite, we should all love our bodies more. But if this body-love leads to people sending dick pics to people who don’t want them, then we have a big problem," she continues.

The concept is, of course, rather amusing, but the mission behind this project is a serious one. The people behind it want to put an end to unsolicited dick pics, which is a form of sexual harassment.

In addition to this, all proceeds are being donated to the UN's HeForShe initiative, a "solidarity campaign for the advancement of gender equality," which is supported by Emma Watson.

Jacob Hammar, communications manager at The Penis Poster, says it's time for men to "take their responsibility." "The unsolicited dick pic is one of many forms of sexual harassment that we don’t talk about enough," says Hammar. "Hopefully, The Penis Poster can shine a light on the problem."

Amen to that.
