How could they tear these down??

After Donald Trump tweeted Thursday about how "foolish" it was to tear down statues and memorials dedicated to the Confederacy, unsurprisingly, people were up in arms.

"Yeah!" they said. "It is a shame to see 'our beautiful statues and monuments' representing our country's history taken down before our very eyes. We're sad!"

Only they weren't quite talking about the same statues that Trump was talking about. Instead, these Internet savvy people turned Trump's comments into the latest meme, sharing photos of some other landmarks they were sad to see disappear.

What will we do without such beauty?

What could possibly be more important to our history??

Our country needs to see these to understand!

What could better represent our values than these works of art? HUH?

Sad.

"...the beauty that is being taken out of our cities, towns and parks will be greatly missed and never able to be comparably replaced!"

You said it, Trump.
