No sexual assault took place in an incident at a Donald Trump rally that led to a protester being pepper sprayed, authorities announced at a press conference Thursday afternoon in Janesville, Wisconsin.

The incident took place outside a Trump rally on Tuesday in Janesville. A 15-year-old girl said she was groped and then physically confronted the man she thought touched her breasts. Moments later, a third person pepper sprayed the girl in the face. She and another woman who received secondary spray were treated at a nearby hospital.

In the below video, the confrontation occurs around the 1:28 mark and the man in the red hat can be seen apparently extending his arm to dispense the pepper spray at the 2:06 mark.

Police said they determined sexual assault did not take place after talking to witnesses and investigating what they estimated to be between "40 and 50" videos or photos, mostly across social media.

Police identified the man who was punched as 59-year-old Daniel Crandall. Crandall had denied touching the 15-year-old and has also declined to press battery charges against the girl who has been referred to juvenile authorities to face a disorderly conduct charge.

But authorities are now seeking a white male in his mid-20s who they've identified as being the person who pepper sprayed the girl. The man, who was photographed wearing a red "Make America Great Again" hat, could face charges if he's identified.
