Disney's next live-action adaptation will be Peter Pan
He'll never grow up -- and he'll never leave theaters.
Disney is making a live-action Peter Pan movie, Deadline reports. (Disney hasn't yet responded to Mashable's request for comment.) David Lowery, who recently helmed the upcoming Pete's Dragon, is set to direct a script co-written with previous collaborator Toby Halbrooks.

The move is nothing new for the House of Mouse, which has set about making live-action adaptations of many classic stories, including its own animated features Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty (via Maleficent) and the upcoming The Little Mermaid and Dumbo.
At the moment, The Jungle Book, directed by Jon Favreau, is set to dominate theaters on Apr. 15.
Peter Pan's story is rich adaptation fodder. In the last few years alone, there's been a live NBC musical version and a famously bad live adaptation starring Hugh Jackman. Disney's famous animated version came out in 1953.
In addition, last year it was announced that Tinker Bell was getting her own live-action adaptation, starring and produced by Reese Witherspoon. So...guess audiences will be getting twice the Pan power in the next year or so.
