While most of us are used to signing a petition by hand, a new campaign is getting people to sign with their face to help end violence against women and girls in the Pacific.

Called Face It Together, it's a visual petition by the UN Women National Committee in Australia that's encouraging people to pledge their photo instead of a signature.

Coinciding with International Women's Day on Mar. 8, the petition aims to create a single portrait of all the men, women and children who have submitted their photo, representing those who have contributed.

Australian actress Nicole Kidman, the face of the campaign, is the first to pledge her image for the campaign. Signatories have until Mar. 13 to submit their photo on the petition's website and make a donation to help the cause.

The campaign hopes to raise awareness of the rampant violence against women and girls in the Pacific region, where as many as two out of three women experience violence or abuse at the hands of those closest to them, according to the UN Women NC.

“Put simply, the Pacific Region is one of the most dangerous places to be born a girl,” Julie McKay, Executive Director of UN Women NC Australia said in a statement. She said it highlighted the need for resources in these areas to combat violence, many of which lack basic infrastructure.

Finally, a helpful way to put those selfies to use.
