Cute dog's pinecone-collecting hobby accidentally makes him look terrifying

Gave us quite a spook, doggo.

It seems like every day there's a new story that makes us think, "Thank goodness for dogs."

Dogs are just so good and so pure. Take Buddy, an adorable pup who also happens to have a hobby of collecting pinecones.

"He's been collecting pinecones since we got him five years ago," Buddy's owner, Joey Sweren, said. "But when I moved to Ocean City seven months ago, he started doing it a lot more than usual."

Sweren wanted to share his dog's goodness to the world, so he took some pictures and posted them to Twitter.

"When I posted the photo about a month ago it got around 50 retweets, mostly from my friends and close followers," Sweren shared. "About two to three days ago it started blowing up."

Blow up it did, with more than 7,000 retweets as of this writing.

Many people responded to the tweet, commenting on how cute and pure Buddy was. But there were some who saw the picture on the left and did a double take.

Whoa, Buddy. What scary teeth you have.

"When I posted the photo I didn't notice anything," Sweren said. "To me it was just my dog with a pinecone in his mouth but one of my friends pointed it out and it scared me a bit."

Same, Sweren, same. And the internet was spooked as well.

Then Buddy got the meme treatment.

"I found it very amusing and as soon as it started to blow up, the memes started," Sweren said about the responses. "And it's been hilarious to watch every day!"

We love you, Buddy. Enjoy your internet fame and never stop collecting those pinecones.
