Couple attempts to recreate Pinterest engagement photo and it's adorably disastrous

Sometimes your special day won't turn out exactly as you think.

Everyone wants to do something unique to commemorate their special day, and where else to find romantic, photogenic inspiration than Pinterest?

Newly engaged couple Alyssa Snodsmith and Collin Hewett thought they had found the perfect Pinterest moment to recreate: a champagne pour. So they ventured into the woods with their favorite photographer and longtime friend Chandler Lefever for their engagement photo series.

However, what the couple didn't anticipate was that their failed attempt at a Pinterest recreation would twist into a viral Twitter sensation.

"We saw that picture on Pinterest and thought it’d be really cute to try and recreate," Snodsmith told Mashable. "But unfortunately Collin overcorrected and poured a bit too much! Luckily our photographer was good enough to capture the perfect shot!"

Some people on Twitter noticed that the original photo, by photographer Brianna Bender, possibly had the modeling couple pour the champagne behind the woman's mouth instead of into it.

But the mishap didn't stop this happy couple. The most adorable part about the series is how effortlessly happy the pair seem together, even in the aftermath, drenched in champagne.

"It was such a fun shoot, getting to photograph some of my best friends," Lefever told Mashable.

Snodsmith said the couple will not be using the viral pics as their official engagement photos.

"We actually took a whole bunch of other photos too, so we're happy with those, but also really happy with the ones where we messed up," said Snodsmith. "It’s crazy! We had no idea it would blow up like this! [Hewett] just posted it because it was super funny and we wanted our friends to see it."
