This holiday season, Pinterest is launching gift guides — with celebrity recs from Pamela Anderson and Conan Gray
Pinterest has long been the place to go when seeking inspiration — whether that be gathering ideas for a wedding or curating your personal style. During the holiday season, it might be where you go to spruce up holiday decor and even find inspiration for gifts. With the interest already on Pinterest, the company is launching its Holiday Edit, including gift guides.
The curated guides are getting a little celebrity help, but maybe more importantly, they're backed by data. Pinterest will offer a variety of classic gift guides, including gifts under $50, gifts for frequent flyers, and gifts for dads who insist they don't want anything, but the gifts chosen for each are driven by research.
Pinterest curated its guides based on search. The company included items that are gaining large amounts of search traffic, like "funky mug," "traveler's journals," and "wired headphones." The company has said its holiday strategy is driven by the insight that "people want to shop smarter, not harder."
