PlayStation's E3 showcase was chock full of great reveals and new looks at upcoming games including E3 staples like Death Stranding and newcomers like Nioh 2.

At PlayStation's anticipated showcase Monday, things started out slowly after a stunning look at The Last of Us Part II, and then sped up a bit after Sony decided to move everyone to a different theater to watch the rest of the presentation. Minus that weird hiccup, the quality of the PlayStation showcase rivaled Sunday's Xbox showcase.

Here are some of the biggest highlights from the PlayStation E3 showcase:

The Last of Us Part II

In a part-sweet, part-savory trailer, the first looks at gameplay from The Last of Us Part II were revealed. Starring Ellie, one of the protagonists from the first game, the trailer gave us a glimpse at some of the brutal, stealth-based gameplay fans came to love from part one.

Spider-Man

A whole bunch of gameplay and a host of villains took centerstage during the latest look at Spider-Man. The trailer showed off a chunk of open world New York City, along with some cutscenes that got fans tingling. Then, the PlayStation team showed off some more gameplay in a live demo later in the show.

Ghost of Tsushima

Gameplay for Ghost of Tsushima was revealed, and all you need to know is this game has a sword and it knows how to use it. The serene landscapes and bloody action look so, so enticing in this action game set in what looks like feudal Japan.

Death Stranding

Yet another Death Stranding trailer raises more questions than it answers. Except this time around, two years after the game was first revealed, we got our first look at some of the gameplay, which mostly involved walking around, but ended up being so much more than that. Because Death Stranding.

Resident Evil 2

Resident Evil 2 is back with a vengeance. The classic horror game that helped cement the series as one of the best franchises in video games has been remade by Capcom for the modern, HD gaming experience and it's coming as quickly as a rabid zombie: Jan. 25.

Destiny 2

Destiny 2's next big update, Forsaken, was given a story trailer that paints a pretty telling picture: there will be death.

Control

We didn't learn a whole lot about Control from its reveal trailer in terms of story, but honestly that doesn't matter, given how awesome and innovative and insanely fun the gameplay looked.

Trover Saves the Universe

From the creator of Rick and Morty and the Rick and Morty virtual reality game comes Trover Saves the Universe, which has the same signature humor and voice acting as the show that brought a McDonald's sauce back from the dead.

Nioh 2

Nioh 2 and all of its action-packed glory was revealed in a short teaser that was little more than that: a teaser to get fans of the first game excited for more heart-pumping melee action.

Déraciné

A new virtual reality game created by From Software, the studio behind Dark Souls and the recently announced Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Déraciné looks incredibly moody with its sepia tone visuals displayed in this vague game footage.

God of War

Sony Santa Monica Studios knows what the fans want, and they're working on giving it to them. God of War will be getting a new game + mode for players who already completed the game and want to hop back in and give it another go with some of the progress they've already made.
