PlayStation VR headset will be available in October for $399
The virtual reality price wars are on.
The PlayStation VR headset will cost $399 and be available in October, Sony President Andrew House announced at a San Francisco press event Tuesday.

The device will cost $200 less than the Oculus Rift headset, out at the end of the month, and $400 less than the HTC Vive, out April 5.
The PlayStation VR headset will require a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Camera to run, currently available for $349. That sets a whole VR-ready system price at $749, and there are already 36 million PlayStation 4s in homes around the world, House said.
