'Pokémon Go' earns estimated $200 million in its first month
It's hard to believe that Pokémon Go has only been out one month, but it's true -- the game that conquered the world and broke all kinds of records was launched July 7.
In that first month, the augmented reality mobile game, created by San Francisco-based developer Niantic, earned more than $200 million in global net revenue, according to an estimate by app development platform Sensor Tower.
While another top earning game of 2016, Clash Royale, actually held its own when it comes to earnings in its first month, Pokémon Go's revenue skyrocketed after the game was launched in Japan in mid-July.

Even though the initial hysteria surrounding Pokémon Go has subsided somewhat, the game still tops Apple's App Store charts for most popular free game as well as the highest-grossing game.
Pokémon Go was most recently launched in Singapore and a number of other Asian and Oceanian markets, but it still hasn't arrived in the largest -- and, potentially, the most lucrative -- Asian market of China. There, the game might not launch at all, as the country restricts mobile GPS data, which is necessary for playing the game.
