LONDON -- When it comes to Pokémon Go, catching them all is no mean feat.

It takes precise timing, determination, and -- above all else -- a fundamental understanding of how the game actually works.

Martin, a Twitter user from York, UK, recently tweeted a perfect demonstration of how you absolutely should not go about catching a Charmander.

Martin's friends were left baffled.

At the time of writing, Martin's tweet has been shared almost 27,000 times.

In fairness, this whole thing is probably not what it seems -- Martin is most likely pranking Twitter with the help of his friends (very effectively, to be fair), or there's always an outside chance that he could have dropped his phone by accident in his attempts to flick the Poké Ball.

We don't believe that he actually panicked and threw the thing.

"I do find it funny how people are split over whether it was 'fake' or not," Martin told the indy100. "At the end of the day, people will think what they want. I even saw some people trying to piece together the timeline of how it happened with the timestamps on my messages and tweets.

"Some people need to lighten up a bit and stop taking it so seriously."
