'Pokémon Go' players are taping their phones to ceiling fans to hatch eggs

Y'all, it's not worth it. They are just going to be Pidgeys.

As Pokémon Go sweeps the nation, it's important to remember what a fun game is all about: winning without trying.

As such, several trainers have decided to attach their phones to moving fans, record players and bicycle wheels to decrease the amount of walking necessary for their incubating eggs to hatch.

They have experienced varying levels of success — and, for the record, appear to be varying levels of kidding.

Lessons learned? Walking might be lame, but GPS signals — especially those fueled by wi-fi — aren't fooled easily.

Also, every single egg is a Pidgey.
