Pokémon Go has launched in Hong Kong, the second Asian city to get the smash hit game after Japan.

The region has been waiting eagerly for the game to be released, after the U.S., Australian and New Zealand first got it at the beginning of July.

The launch comes four days after a massive release in Japan, which many regarded as a homecoming for the Nintendo franchise.

Within hours of its release, people were already stepping out onto the streets and catching Pokémon in Hong Kong.

While Pokémon Go has been released in Hong Kong, it hasn't yet launched in mainland China. Shortly after Japan's release, mainland Chinese players were reportedly spoofing GPS locations to play and conquer gyms in the land of the rising sun -- a political statement against the smaller nation which it has had historical bad blood with.
