A new trailer for Pokémon Sun and Moon just released, giving us a glimpse at two brand new legendary Pokémon and the Hawaii-inspired Alola region, as well as some of the characters you'll be interacting with in your travels.

The new legendary Pokémon fit the names of the upcoming Nintendo 3DS installments: Pokémon Sun's Solgaleo is a radiant, lion-like Pokémon and Pokémon Moon's Lunala is a dark, bat-like Pokémon.

Along with the new trailer, The Pokémon Company released some information about the two new legendary Pokémon.

Solgaleo

Via Giphy

Solgaleo is a Psychic/Steel type Pokémon that is honored as an emissary of the sun, sometimes known as "the beast that devours the sun."

Its signature move is Sunsteel Strike, shown in the trailer, which is a charge attack that ignores opponents' abilities. Solgaleo's own ability is Full Metal Body, a new ability that makes it impervious to stat decreases caused by opponents' moves of abilities. Your Growl won't work here.

Lunala

Via Giphy

Lunala is a Psychic/Ghost type Pokémon that is honored as an emissary of the moon, revered as "the beast that calls the moon."

Lunala's signature Moongesit Beam channels light into an energy blast that also ignores opponents' abilities. It also has a brand new ability, Shadow Shield, which decreases the damage received from enemy Pokémon when Lunala is at full HP.

Alola

The trailer also took a more detailed look at the new region Alola, which is a tropical region consisting of four natural islands and one artificial one.

The professor that gets you started on this journey is Professor Kukui, who's passionate about Pokémon moves. He has a bookish assistant named Lillie who is not so fond of fighting.

Even the Pokédex is getting an update in Sun and Moon, as it has been inhabited by the Pokémon Rotom, giving the Pokédex a personality and allowing it to provide more details to the player.

In case you missed the first trailer which showed off some gameplay as well as the three starter Pokémon, you can check it out here.
