Politician casually falls asleep on live TV mid-way through debate

Sometimes you just want to take a nap.

It's a well-established fact that politics is super-duper boring.

Long, waffling speeches. Dull meetings. Arguments that go on for hours.

If you happen to actually be a politician, though, it's good to show at least a tiny bit of interest.

Or, if you happen to be UK MP Sir Desmond Swayne, you could just say screw it and fall asleep live on television, mid-way through a Brexit debate:

To be fair, he does deserve some points for the way he recovers after waking up 43 seconds into that clip. He even manages to smile as if he's been paying attention the whole time.

EAnd hey -- at least he owned up to it afterwards.

Editor's Note: This article reflects the views and humour of the author. Politics is not boring.
