UPDATE: Aug. 13, 2016, 12:53 p.m. AEST Will Sparks has issued a statement, sent to Mashable Australia via email: "Unfortunately my intentions for the post were different to how it was perceived. My purpose for the post revolved around wanting influencers to use their social media platforms to enforce positive and motivating messages to their followers, however unfortunately due to the nature of social media my words were misconstrued. Apologies to anyone who may have been offended by this post - this was in no way aimed to hurt."

If you've ever thought about telling women what they should be doing, maybe take a step back and don't do it.

It's a little too late for Melbourne Bounce DJ and producer Will Sparks, who wrote a Facebook post on Friday that has since been deleted.

According to a screenshot of his post, Sparks strongly suggested that women who post images or videos of themselves online should consider doing something "GOOD," "MOTIVATING," "INSPIRING," or maybe even "ENTERTAINING" or "EXCITING."

"You have this massive following yet all you it for is to fulfil your SIGNIFICANCE and love for CERTAINTY aka 'likes/views'. You'll feel a lot better contributing to these lives, helping them to grow," he added.

"You can still film yourself, but maybe say something that could better the viewers day. And if you're doing both. THEN GREAT! AT LEAST YOU'RE DOING YOUR BIT!"

Predictably, this act of telling women what they can or can't do online -- especially because of their looks -- didn't go down very well with other people on the internet.

There is also this post from Australian blog Pilerats, who did their very own version of Sparks' rant, amended, of course. Once again, if you're going to start a thought with something along the lines "women should do this, because I think so" -- maybe rethink it.
