President Trump is "not a racist." At least that's what he says.

Following a veritable shitstorm of backlash after he referred to places including Haiti, El Salvador, and some African countries as "shithole countries," Trump has declared that not only did he not say the derogatory comment, but that he isn't racist. Wait, the "least racist person."

“I’m not a racist. I am the least racist person you have ever interviewed, that I can tell you,” Trump said on Sunday night. The president was interviewed by reporters before having dinner with House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy at Trump International Golf Club in Florida.

“Did you see what various senators in the room said about my comments? They weren’t made,” Trump said of two Republican senators who denied the president's remarks on talk shows.

When asked by reporters about reaching a deal for the DACA program, which protects immigrants who were brought into the country as kids, Trump steered responsibility to the Democrats. "The Democrats are the ones who aren't going to make a deal," he said.

Days earlier Trump had been asked by reporters if he's racist during routine photo op in which he signed a proclamation to honor Martin Luther King Jr., day. His response? Leaving the room.

So, what was that comment Trump is denying? While meeting with lawmakers in the Oval Office on Thursday, discussing protection for immigrants from places like Haiti, El Salvador, and some African countries, Trump reportedly said, "Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?" according to the Washington Post. He then suggested the U.S. accept more people from Norway — you know, white people — according to three people who spoke to the Post.

CNN's Don Lemon and Anderson Cooper didn't mince words after Trump's comments, both calling them "racist."

It's ok though, guys, because Trump's just "the least racist person" reporters have interviewed. Least racist. I guess, calling many undocumented Mexican immigrants "rapists" and criminals doesn't count.
