I bought a Kindle Paperwhite on Prime Day in 2023 (for only $85!!!), and it's truly one of the best — if not the best — purchases I've ever made. I read more because it's so lightweight and portable, so it's easier to take with me on the go. Plus, I save so much money on books by taking advantage of Amazon's e-book deals.

So, I wanted to share the wealth and tell you which Kindle deals you should be shopping on Prime Day 2025 as a Kindle reader.

Kindle Paperwhite

Why I like it

So, first of all, if you're here and you're not a Kindle owner (or you have an old model and it's time for an upgrade), let me suggest buying the Kindle Paperwhite. We've named it the best Kindle you can buy right now, and it's my pick for the best e-reader, period. And while this year's discount isn't as amazing as two years ago, I still recommend buying the Paperwhite while it's got any sort of discount. It's a good size, it's waterproof, and the battery life is stellar.

Kindle Unlimited subscription

Why I like it

Kindle Unlimited gives you access to more than 4 million digital titles, including fiction, non-fiction, audiobooks, and magazines. It normally costs $11.99 per month, but during Prime Day, Prime members get three months free. I personally don't always read fast enough to justify the $11.99 a month, but I'll take three free months of it any day.

Get two free books in July

Why I like it

Amazon First Reads is one of my absolute favorite Amazon Prime perks. Each month, I get to select a free book to read before it's even officially released. And during July, Prime members get two free books because of Prime Day. If you're not a Prime member, you can still grab the books for $1.99 each. I've found some of my favorite books through First Reads — and it's a huge money saver.

Audible subscription

Why I like it

Similar to Kindle Unlimited, Audible has a three months free deal. If you didn't know, you can listen to audiobooks on your Kindle by connecting headphones via Bluetooth. You can also, obviously, just listen through your phone. An Audible subscription includes one audiobook a month, which you get to keep. So, essentially, you're getting three free audiobooks with this deal.

Kindle book deals

There is also a host of Kindle books on sale in the Amazon Kindle bookstore during Prime Day, and you can earn double Kindle Rewards points when you shop.
