Never forget: Prince wasn't just a musician. He was a multi-talented superstar.

Prince, a.k.a. The Kid, a.k.a. The Artist, was a writer, a singer, a dancer and an actor who dazzled audiences on the big and small screens.

While music was his main love, he occasionally stepped up to play a movie role or appear in a cameo. It's only a pity that he did it so rarely.

Here are the rare and beautiful times Prince graced us with his acting chops.

1. Purple Rain, 1984

Prince's first movie role, which will forever be engrained in our hearts.

2. Graffiti Bridge, 1990

The unofficial sequel to Purple Rain brought back Prince's character, The Kid.

3. Under the Cherry Moon, 1986

Prince romanced Hollywood actress Kristin Scott Thomas in this '80s musical drama.

4. The Muppet Show, 1997

As The Artist Formerly Known As Prince, he sang, danced and acted alongside Kermit and the gang.

5. New Girl, 2014

Jess and Nick fulfilled all our dreams by meeting...yes, you guessed it, Prince.

Bonus: An almost-cameo in Fargo, 1996

The Artist Formerly Known As Prince's symbol shows up in the film's credits, indicating that he played a "Victim in the Field." Unfortunately, as film's IMDb page explains, this was a joke put in by the Coen Brothers; after all, Prince is a famous Minnesota native. The body playing Victim in Field is NOT, in fact, Prince, but actually the film's storyboard artist, J. Todd Anderson.
