The Revolution will reunite for two Prince tribute shows this summer
Prince's most beloved backup band is getting back together this summer.
On Sept. 2 and Sept. 3, Brown Mark, Bobby Z., Wendy Melvoin, Lisa Coleman and Matt Fink - a.k.a. Dr. Fink -- will perform tribute concerts to Prince at Minneapolis' First Avenue, the venue featured in his 1984 film Purple Rain.
Dez Dickerson, who played guitar in the Revolution before leaving in 1983, and André Cymone, a pre-Revolution bassist, are listed as "special guests."

"With profound loss and apocalyptic grief, we, along with the world, mourned Prince upon the news of his passing," the Revolution wrote in a statement. "Only by playing for you, the fans, can we be Prince’s Revolution. He gives Us 2 oneanother now, as we all start to heal and fill forever emptiness with sound. 2gether, we are The Revolution.”
Prince performed with the Revolution from 1979 to 1986, including during his historic Purple Rain tour.
