Amazon Launchpad will now feature Product Hunt items on its website in a new collaboration announced Wednesday morning.

"It's encouraging to see Amazon create new experiences around product discovery, highlighting innovative tech," Product Hunt Founder Ryan Hoover told Mashable in an email. "This partnership is really focused on helping makers get visibility and distribution, and ultimately get cool products into the hands of consumers."

A select number of products will be showcased with a “Featured on Product Hunt” badge on the Amazon product detail page, and display the number of upvotes received on Product Hunt. And on Product Hunt's websites, there will be a "Get It" button to take shoppers directly to purchase it on Amazon. The products will be chosen by Product Hunt's community.

According to Hoover, Amazon approached Product Hunt last year, when Launchpad was still in its early stages.

"Product Hunt's community of makers defines what's hot, curates the best content, and helps consumers discover their next favorite thing," Jeanne Templeton, a PR Representative for Amazon wrote Mashable in an email. "This collaboration will allow discovery and shopping to become a more seamless experience for everyone."

The collaboration comes just a few weeks after Amazon announced a similar partnership with Kickstarter in which it will launch its own portal for the crowdfunding website's products. In both cases, Amazon stressed that the purpose was to bring entrepreneurs closer to a wider consumer audience (188 million daily visitors) as well as the engaged venture capitalists with whom Amazon Launchpad works. So far, Amazon says it's worked with 100 leading venture capital firms, startup accelerators, and crowd-funding platforms.

Templeton declined to comment on the possibility of future collaborations, but with the close announcement of these two major partnerships, it wouldn't be surprising to soon hear of another one.
