HOLLYWOOD -- Among the sea of journalists and celebrities on Sunday's Oscars red carpet, there was also one YouTube star: P’Trique.

The digital personality (who in life goes by Patrick Pope) was smack dab in the middle of the action, nabbing interviews with stars on camera.

"It was so much fun being on the red carpet, it was truly a dream come true," P’Trique told Mashable in a phone interview while in character. "It's where I want to be all the time."

The fashionista makes content for The Platform, Maker Studios' "go-to spot for all things beauty, fashion and lifestyle." The platform's YouTube channel has about 405,468 subscribers and more than 37.4 million views to date.

Maker, a Disney-owned digital entertainment company, boasts a network of about 60,000 independent creators from more than 100 countries.

P’Trique said the opportunity to do the red carpet segment came about two weeks ago. ABC, the network on which the Oscars air, is owned by Disney as well.

On the Oscars carpet, Cate Blanchett blew P'Trique a kiss and said she loved him, Mark Ruffalo told P'Trique he's a "beautiful lady" and Jennifer Lawrence waved from afar.

"It validated me," P'Trique said.

The YouTuber, who was wearing a custom-made gown by Fouad Sarkis, had a team of about four people -- including P'Trique -- on the carpet with him. But there were about 10 total working behind the scenes on social media.

The weirdest reaction came from Jared Leto.

"He was a little perplexed, which was so odd because he is such a perplexing man," P'Trique said. "But weird is where I live. I don’t wan't to be normal. I want to be chic and i want to be weird."

Fashionista P'Trique first rose to fame after the video "Sh*t Fashion Girls Say (A Sh*t Girls Say Parody)" went viral in 2012. It has amassed 1.6 million videos on YouTube.

Now, however, P'Trique is hoping to shift gears.

"As I got more friendly with everyone in the fashion world … I kind of wanted to cross over into pop culture, as fashion and pop culture go together. It's also a natural evolution to go into movies, music and TV."
