Pumpkin spice is a rapidly expanding, ruthless empire, and everyone is slowly coming under its mighty reign.

McDonalds Japan may seem far from the pumpkin spice craze that's taken hold over the United States. But recently, the chain came out with groundbreaking news: they, too, had been infected by the bug. McDonalds Japan would now be releasing pumpkin spice and chocolate fries, just in time for Halloween.

Known as the "Halloween Choco Potato," fans are treated to their favorite salty delight with a heavy, fatty dose of sweetness.

While the combination of potato, pumpkin and chocolate may seem nauseating to some, Japanese customers appear to be enjoying the novelty and taste of the product.

"The flavors of pumpkin and chocolate went unexpectedly well and it was quite tasty," one customer told Reuters.

This is the 45th anniversary of McDonalds in Japan. Sadly (or thankfully, depending on how you feel about pumpkin spice), the offer will only extend to October.

We're all passive subjects in the kingdom of pumpkin spice. There is no point in resisting. Accept it, and move on.
