LONDON -- Everyone else might as well give up and go home.

No matter how excited you are about the Queen's birthday and no matter how creative your tweet or Facebook post or giant garden sculpture might have been, it's got nothing on the fine work done by these scientists at the University of Nottingham.

That's right: they etched a damn happy birthday message into a single corgi hair.

The hair was etched using a Focused Ion Beam Scanning Electron Microscope (you know the ones) at the University of Nottingham's Nanoscale and Microscale Research Centre.

Writing in a blog post on their site, the university explained that their new centre will help them carry out research into the likes of medicine, energy consumption and electronic devices by allowing them to view things on such a microscopic level.

To be fair, if they can carve a fully legible message into a corgi's hair then there surely isn't much they can't do.

Bonus: Can you find Queen Elizabeth in this sea of corgis?
