Queen Elizabeth has perched many a hat atop her regal head over the years. But today's choice has left Brits scratching their heads about the possible hidden meaning lurking underneath it. Some people believe the hat bears a striking resemblance to the European Union flag.

Does this mean the Queen is a Remainer?

At the State Opening of Parliament on Wednesday morning, the Queen wore a dusky blue outfit with a matching hat. But a curious collection of flowers creates a similar effect to the EU flag pattern.

Some went so far as to suggest the Queen was seizing the opportunity to make her feelings about Brexit known.

Former Great British Bake Off host Sue Perkins dubbed the hat the "Queen's EU bonnet".

While others called her headwear an "EU hat".

Will we ever know the truth behind the hat's hidden meaning?
