Watch Questlove's emotional Prince tribute: 'We can follow the trails he blazed'
There are Prince superfans and then there's Questlove.
The Roots drummer, a noted fan of the late singer for years, opened the Billboard Music Awards' Prince tribute (performed by Madonna) with a few moving words.
"On April 21, we lost Prince," he began. "I say we because it affects us all."

The famous drummer donned purple-tinted sunglasses, a "Starfish & Coffee, Maple Syrup and Jam" shirt and a purple pin bearing Prince's iconic symbol.
"All of us live in the land of music and his departure from it was an earthquake," he continued.
His speech was around two minutes long, full of heartfelt mentions of the singer's "high falsettos" and cheeky sartorial choices.
"As we move forward, we will encounter every single day more reasons to remember him," he says.
