Rashida Jones is setting the record straight, revealing the real reason she dropped out of Toy Story 4.

On Tuesday the actress told The New York Times her decision to leave was a result of Pixar's treatment of women and minorities in the workplace, not because of Pixar Founder John Lasseter.

Jones denied a Hollywood Reporter article that claimed she was leaving as a result of "an unwanted advance" from Lasseter, who recently announced he would be taking a six-month sabbatical after several "missteps" left his employees feeling uncomfortable.

Jones and her writing partner, Will McCormack, have stopped working on the Toy Story 4 screenplay, according to The Times, and have bashed The Hollywood Reporter article for false reporting.

"The breakneck speed at which journalists have been naming the next perpetrator renders some reporting irresponsible," the writers said in a statement to The Times. "We did not leave Pixar because of unwanted advances. That is untrue. We parted ways because of creative and, more importantly, philosophical differences."

They went on to describe Pixar as a place "where women and people of color do not have an equal creative voice,” and encouraged the leaders to diversify when it comes to future hiring. "We hope we can encourage all those who have felt like their voices could not be heard in the past to feel empowered.”

Though Jones and McCormack are parting ways with Pixar, they noted that the company has tremendous talent working there, and they will remain fans of their films.

Lasseter was initially co-directing Toy Story 4 but stepped down in July, handing things over to Josh Cooley, Variety reported. The Pixar chief was set to stay on as the film's executive producer, and the memo he sent to staffers announcing his leave suggests he will return to his duties after six months.

Though the memo does not address any sexual harassment or misconduct directly, there have been several other reports examining Lasseter’s inappropriate behavior and interactions with women over the years.
