On Monday, Brits noticed that the sun had unexpectedly changed colour, which prompted everyone to start googling.

It turns out this was a side-effect of Storm Ophelia. The storm whipped up lots of Saharan dust and Iberian wildfire smoke, which is acting as a sepia filter against the sky, plunging Britain into darkness.

Some very striking images have come from all over Britain.

But the best reactions to our new apocalyptic makeover came from the capital. Here are just a few of the most quality London tweets about the #RedSun.

One unfortunate politician got the brunt of the umber sky in an interview on BBC news.

Even official news channels were jumping into the mix.

Well, here's hoping the dust lifts and Britain doesn't end up turning into some Mad Max-esque apocalyptic wasteland where morals and empathy mean nothing and we turn on each other like animals.
