Imagine if Marty McFly were former LMFAO party boy Redfoo in a sequined blazer whose time machine was -- rather than a DeLorean -- a gaudy party bus.

That's the premise behind his new virtual reality music video for "Lights Out," off his solo debut album Party Rock Mansion.

Shot on a Headcase VR rig, the video takes viewers on Redfoo's journey to the past to "get the girl," the girl being Dancing With the Stars' Emma Slater. Specifically, we're transported to the Party Rock Valley Plaza 1960 annual community dance.

The video is the creation of Littlstar, a global network dedicated to immersive virtual reality and 360-degree video.

“Ever since the technology came out and I put my first headset on, I was amazed at the future of creative expression, and I started dreaming of how I could do my next video in VR,” Redfoo said in a statement to Mashable. “I wanted to step up to the challenge, as a content creator. I wanted to challenge myself to figure out how to make something in VR.”

Fans can experience “Lights Out” in 360 degrees and VR through Littlstar’s apps for the web, iOS, Android, VR headsets and Apple TV at http://lstar.co/LightsOut.

“It’s really exciting to see an artist that is just as passionate about the technology of a video, as he is about the music, storytelling and performance," said Matthew Collado, co-founder and chief content officer at Littlstar. "Redfoo truly understands not only how to produce an awesome music video in virtual reality, but also how to tell a compelling and immersive story in the medium. We are proud to be premiering ‘Lights Out’ on Littlstar and working with artists like Redfoo to push the music industry and VR world forward.”
