Twitter schools Rick Perry on basic economics after he speaks at a coal plant
If Econ 101 taught us anything, it's that supply follows demand. But U.S. Secretary of Energy Rick Perry interpreted the basic principle a little differently while at a coal plant in West Virginia Thursday.
According to Market Intelligence energy reporter Taylor Kuykendall, Perry offered up some wisdom at a tour of the Longview Power Plant. "Here's a little economics lesson: supply and demand. You put the supply out there and the demand will follow."

But that's not how the laws of supply and demand are usually described. It's not all "build it and they will come" in the real world. Twitter noticed and called out the climate change-denying energy secretary.
