Pumpkins are basically the official food mascots of Halloween.

They're great for things like decorations, pies, and lattes. But no one ever brags about their endearing love for pumpkin soup.

Despite Simone Giertz' disdain toward pumpkin soup, she decided to build a robot to serve it, sponsored by Google Home.

I keep trying to imagine Wall-E cooking up some soup like Remy in Ratatouille, and it's such a perfectly weird combination.

“I hate pumpkin soup, and I thought it might get better if a robot served it to me. It didn’t,” wrote Geirtz.

Giertz programmed a sequence of movements with a remote. After some failed attempts, she succeeded -- but not until the robot spilled soup everywhere.
