Have we traveled through time? Not to the late '70s and the onset of Star Wars frenzy, or even to the false hope-riddled prequel years. With a new trailer for December's Star Wars: Rogue One sending waves of excitement through the internet, it feels like this time last year, before The Force Awakens welcomed in a new era of Star Wars.

Fan expectations are mixed, if cautiously optimistic. But Star Wars is Star Wars, and any content is catnip for fans who care about this galaxy far, far away.

First of all, the trailer gives us a look at someone we haven't seen in a long time: Darth Vader. Evil or not, fans are thrilled to see him.

Rogue One premieres in theaters on Dec. 16.
