What's Ronaldinho been up to lately? Well, he could be playing in Australia next

It has been a bit of an odd journey for Brazilian soccer legend, Ronaldinho.

The 36-year-old who has won nearly every accolade there is to be won, left his last team Fluminense back in September after three months and nine games. It was a brief but poor experience for the star, who failed to score and was booed by his own fans.

He then signed for Indian Premier Futsal team Goa, utterly dominating in two matches back in July, then left unceremoniously after being named an ambassador for Brazil's Paralympic Games.

Now, Australia could be next up in Ronnie's globetrotting adventures. But not for the A-League, where Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero once made his mark.

A regional team, the Wollongong Wolves (who play in the second-tier New South Wales National Premier League) have tabled a formal offer for the Brazilian player as part of a guest deal.

"We can confirm we've put in an offer," Wollongong Wolves director, Dean Merola, told Outside90.

"We know he is interested in coming to the A-League as a marquee. We are willing to put him on a platform to show his wares and the deadline for a response is tomorrow."

If all goes to plan, a match against A-League side Sydney FC in the FFA Cup competition on Aug. 10 would be the ideal stage for the player to show what a late-career Ronaldinho can still do.
