Rosario Dawson was arrested along with dozens of other people during a demonstration on Friday at Capitol Hill.

The brazen Daredevil actress and Bernie Sanders supporter was arrested for crowding and obstruction. Dawson was later fined $50 and released, and will not need to appear before court, The Guardian reports.

The protests were part of a week-long demonstration for the Democracy Spring movement. According to its website, the group demands that "Congress take immediate action to end the corruption of big money in our politics and ensure free and fair elections in which every American has an equal voice."

Dawson shared multiple pictures and video to her social accounts while at the event on Friday.

Dawson and the other protesters were warned multiple times by US Capitol police before being arrested.

“I wanted personally to be in solidarity with the other folks who put themselves on the line and really just to bring attention to this because I think that’s just vitally important,” she told The Guardian.

Dawson also stated that the police acted with respect towards the demonstrations.

The police were really great with us, really lovely.

“The police were really great with us, really lovely. I have to say that is not the case for so many people: Dreamers, Black Lives Matter activists, so many people are not seeing this kind of courageousness ...

"I hope that officers across the nation can take heed of that and recognize that the peaceful protests that are going around the nation should also be treated in the same way as we are being treated today," the actress sid.

But a measly $50 ticket isn't going to stop Dawson. On Saturday, she took part in another demonstration in support of Bernie Sanders New York City.
