Twitter temporarily suspended Rose McGowan on Wednesday night, according to an Instagram post from the actress.

McGowan has been in the news this week as a vocal critic of both Harvey Weinstein and, subsequently, Ben Affleck, whom she labeled a liar and told him to "fuck off" following his own condemnation of Weinstein.

Detailed in an email screenshot posted on McGowan's Instagram, the temporary suspension allows her to browse Twitter — but she is prohibited from sending tweets, retweeting or liking.

The suspension will last for 12 hours, however she will need to delete the tweet that violates Twitter's rules before the countdown can begin. It is unclear which tweet violated its rules.

"There are powerful forces at work. Be my voice," she captioned the post.

She reached a settlement with Weinstein in 1997.

McGowan has also been supportive of those in the industry like Asia Argento, who also said she was harassed by the producer, as well as encouraging people to sign a petition to dissolve the board of The Weinstein Company.

Twitter has been contacted by Mashable.
