Even though Meghan Markle is marrying into the British royal family, she still has an army of American supporters.

29.2 million Americans tuned in to watch Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding live on Saturday, according to Deadline with stats from Nielson. That's more than 10 million more views than William and Kate's wedding, which drew in an audience of 18.6 million.

The nuptials brought in 23.7 million views from across network TV channels and 6.9 million views from Facebook and Twitter. Considering the ceremony was broadcasted at 7 a.m. EST, the amount of devoted wedding watchers is pretty impressive.

To put the numbers in perspective, the Game of Thrones season finale brought in only about half of the viewership that Harry and Meghan had, with 16.5 million viewers -- and that was a record high for the show. The Super Bowl outperformed the royals' holy matrimony with a whopping 103.4 million viewers.

With online streaming on the rise, it's no surprise that royal weddings get more attention. When Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana were married in 1981, only about 17 million people tuned in.

This couple's wedding had such strong American ratings for many good reasons -- aside from the fact that people just love fairytale endings. American-born Meghan Markle is one of the first biracial members of the British monarchy. The ceremony paid tribute to her mixed-race heritage, including a passionate sermon from Bishop Curry, the first black presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church, and featuring songs from a gospel choir. Her mother, Doria Ragland, was praised by Twitter users for unapologetically wearing locs to the wedding.

Considering the historical significance of Harry and Meghan's marriage, it's no surprise that so many people wanted to watch it happen.

Sadly, there likely won't be another royal wedding for years to come.
