You know it's a nice day online when we can all hang around for a while and talk about Rudy Giuliani's butt.

On Friday, NBC News reporter Rich Schapiro published a story revealing that Giuliani butt-dialed him — yes, that is right — late at night on October 16. Not realizing his error, the president's personal lawyer then left him a three-minute voicemail.

Though much of what Giuliani said was unintelligible, according to Schapiro, he was able to hear a few phrases, including "I gotta get you to get on Bahrain" (he made a dubious visit there in December 2018) and repeated admissions that he needs money.

“Is Robert around?” Giuliani asks.

“He’s in Turkey,” the man responds.

Giuliani replies instantly. “The problem is we need some money.”

The two men then go silent. Nine seconds pass. No word is spoken. Then Giuliani chimes in again.

“We need a few hundred thousand,” he says.

Schapiro clarifies that this wasn't the first butt-dial he'd received from Giuliani. On September 28, he ended up with another voicemail from the lawyer after declining a call from him at a child's birthday party. In this one, Giuliani mostly disparages the Bidens. (His accusations, which you can read in Schapiro's story, are unfounded.)

Lots going on here, obviously, but let's start here: How is this man so incredibly bad at using his phone? We know he uses an iPhone at least some of the time, thanks to this disaster, but doesn't he have a passcode? Does he have Touch ID enabled with his ass? Does he simply never lock his phone? What is happening?

Naturally, people want to make jokes about it. Of course they do: This story is about crimes, a bad lawyer, and a butt. A winning combo!

We look forward to "doing a Giuliani" replacing "butt-dialing" in the cultural lexicon.
