In a move that should shock absolutely nobody, Rush Limbaugh is leaving Florida ahead of Hurricane Irma—a storm he recently chalked up to a liberal media climate change conspiracy.

Limbaugh told his listeners earlier in the week that he had taken a close look at the storm and come to the conclusion that people were overreacting—even decrying the "Big Waters guy" who were making money off of people buying bottled water ahead of the storm.

But on Limbaugh's Thursday show, he casually mention that he's leaving Florida before Irma. Limbaugh, naturally, didn't change his tune about his conspiracy theory—he claimed he's right "99.8 percent of the time"—but then announced that he would be heading out.

"It turns out we will not be able to do the program tomorrow," he said, following with some bumbling about plans that he had to cancel.

There's nothing Limbaugh can't twist to fit this usual narrative, but declaring Hurricane Irma to be full of climate-inspired media hype took even grizzled media-watches by surprise. Limbaugh is based out of Palm Beach, Florida, which is projected to be hit hard by the powerful storm.

That he's a self-serving hypocrite is not much of a surprise. But it's particularly disgusting that, after Limbaugh told people not to worry about the storm and then decided to evacuate, he didn't have the decency to walk back his comments and admonish his listeners to heed warnings about the storm.

Instead, he spoke about missing a movie screening.

Meanwhile, Florida Governor Rick Scott has been begging people in the path of the storm to evacuate, having declared a statewide emergency. "If you're in an evacuation zone, you've got to get out," he told ABC News. "You can't wait."
