Joker has now earned more money at the worldwide box office than any other R-rated movie that came before it. Ryan Reynolds is totally chill with that.

Totally. Chill.

Reynolds of course stars in Deadpool, the previous #1 R-rated box office earner (worldwide) before Joker came barging in. So while we have no doubt his "YOU MOTHER F*CKER" poster is dispatched with love and respect, he's justified in being a little spicy about it, too.

In case it's not clear, the names listed at the bottom of the poster are references to other R-rated box office hits in the top 10 for that record.

If you're curious about the numbers: according to Deadline, Joker eclipsed Deadpool 2's record-setting $785 million worldwide box office haul on Friday. By the end of the weekend, the Joaquin Phoenix-led DC Comics villain origin story should have north of $800 million in the bank.

Even still, Deadpool and Joker both have nothing on Jesus Christ.

The Passion of the Christ remains the top-earning R-rated box office earner for domestic (that's U.S. and U.S. only) audiences, with $371 million to Deadpool's $363 million and Joker's $259 million, according to Box Office Mojo. (It's worth noting that some of these figures might be off, as Box Office Mojo still show's Joker's worldwide total as $771 million.)

Don't take that as a knock on Joker, though. The movie has been a massive success at the box office, likely thanks to the pairing of a mega-popular Batman villain with terrific acting from Joaquin Phoenix.
