Sick girl cured after blowing a safety pin out of her nose
Sometimes, the best cure for a mysterious illness is a sneeze.
In Helmet, California, 5-year-old Khloe Powell had been struggling with terrible nasal pain for six months. The girl's mother, Katelyn Powell, took her to multiple doctors, who diagnosed her with several different types of sinus infections. But only when the girl had a good, hearty sneeze did the truth come out: she had a safety pin lodged in her nose.

Kaitlyn noticed a problem when her daughter's nose began to produce a green, odoriferous mucus. It wasn't your typical discharge -- it was profoundly gross.
Despite treating Khloe with multiple medications, nothing seemed to work. Only when Khloe's uncle encouraged her to sneeze did they finally discover the cause.
Khloe had somehow stuck a safety pin in her nose. She later explained to her uncle that she used to build toy castles with pins, and one must have traveled up there.
"It was a huge object. It was bigger than her nose," her mother told local news station KABC-TV. "We were horrified. I was like, 'Did you put this up there?' She did, but she forgot to tell me."
While Khloe is thankfully recovering, the safety pin remains in critical condition.
