Former Maker Studios exec joins UTA's digital media department
LOS ANGELES -- Sam Wick, Maker's former executive vice president and GM of enterprise, has been tapped as the newest addition to the growing UTA Digital Media department team.
In his new role at UTA, Wick "will focus on building new businesses andopportunities for the agency and its diverse client roster," the agency said in a release Tuesday.
“When I met Sam I was immediately struck by his entrepreneurial spirit and background,” UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer said in a statement. “Today, our clients are looking for entrepreneurial representation, and Sam will add greatly to our capabilities.”

The Beverly Hills-based talent agency has been growing a robust digital media team since 2003, with help from current head of digital Brent Weinstein.
Since then, the agency has launched new successful businesses in digital space including AwesomenessTV with client Brian Robbins; Keywords Press, the publishing imprint formed by UTA and Simon & Schuster’s Atria publishing group and PreAct, the market-leading social media-based movie tracker in partnership with comScore.
Weinstein said Wick "will be an incredible resource for the agency and its clients."
Wick, who also held executive positions at Myspace, AOL and Sony, is the latest big name to exit the Disney-owned digital entertainment company as it continues to undergo shake-ups.
In March, Bonnie Pan, Maker's executive vice president of programming, left the company to tackle the role of president at Endemol Beyond. Ynon Kreiz, the CEO who helped facilitate the Disney deal, left Maker in January.
