Samsung is probably launching a new Galaxy A series smartphone on Dec. 12.

We know that thanks to an official Samsung Vietnam video teaser for the phone — possibly published prematurely — which mentions the launch date and gives us a decent look at the device (via SamMobile).

The new Galaxy A phones will have a different branding than the previous generation, SamMobile claims, starting with Galaxy A11 and ending with Galaxy A91. It's unclear which of these is shown in the 55-second video above, which Samsung Vietnam posted on YouTube on Monday.

The video is more of a teaser than a full-blown ad, as it shows the evolution of the camera on Samsung's mid-tier smartphones from years past. But at the very end of the video, we get a look at the new device's front side and its impossibly tiny bezels (which will likely be a bit bigger in real life). The display has a punch-hole camera in the top middle position, similar to the Galaxy Note 10.

The video also briefly shows the phone's rear camera setup, which features some positively huge lenses, reminiscent of the ones on the iPhone 11.

SamMobile says the new Galaxy A Series phones, to be launched in 2020, will be all about the cameras, with top model(s) sporting Samsung's fancy new 108-megapixel sensor, while the Galaxy A51 model is likely to have a 5-megapixel macro camera.

The next couple of months will be very busy for Samsung's mobile phone division, it seems. Besides the Galaxy A phones unveiling later this month, the company is reportedly preparing to launch its second foldable device in February 2020, and that's alongside its regular launch of the Samsung Galaxy S flagship.
