Samsung's toughest smartphone just got even tougher.

The Galaxy S7 Active is a ruggedized version of Samsung's flagship Galaxy S7. The phone has the same 5.1-inch Quad HD display as the S7 with one major difference: It's way more durable. The screen is shatter-resistant and can withstand drops from up to five feet.

The S7 Active is also water-resistant up to five feet of water for up to 30 minutes, but then again, so is the S7 and S7 Edge.

Compared to the S6 Active, Samsung's taken a lot of feedback from consumers and changed the design in areas like the corners so that they're rounder. The phone's also available in colors like "Sandy Gold" and "Titanium Gray," which are supposed to appeal to females. Samsung specifically said it wanted colors that mothers would approve. If you prefer the camouflage aesthetic, the "Green Camo" is also available.

The S7 Active has a large 4,000 milliamp-hour (mAh) battery -- larger than the S7's 3,000 mAh and even the S7 Edge's 3,600 mAh. You still get Samsung's fast charging and fast wireless charging as well.

Since this is an "Active" Galaxy phone, there's a dedicated "Active" button on the left side of the phone. Like the S6 Active, you can program the button to launch any app. Press the button twice and it'll launch Emergency Zone, which dials 911 or sends a preset SOS message -- handy if you're going out into the wild.

Noticeably missing on the S6 Active was the fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button. Samsung's remedied that -- you'll find the same super quick sensor/home button on the S7 Active, flanked by a physical recent apps and back button.

The S7 Active has a larger 4,000 milliamp-hour (mAh) battery

Otherwise, the phone's specs and performance are identical to the S7 and S7 Edge. The phone's running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Samsung's TouchWiz UI and powered by the dynamic duo a.k.a. the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM. There's 32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for expansion up to 200GB.

The cameras (front and back) are just as great, too -- 5-megapixel f/1.7 camera shooter on the front and 12-megapixel f/1.7 camera on the back.

The S7 Active is an AT&T exclusive in the U.S. and will launch on June 10 on AT&T Next for $26.50 per month (x 30 months) and AT&T Next Every Year for $33.13 per month (x 24 months).
