Samsung's new tablet comes with the Note7's awesome GIF maker
If you really like the idea of Samsung's S Pen stylus, but hate that the Galaxy Note7 literally burned up in flames, maybe you'll like the company's new Galaxy Tab A.
At $350, the Tab A is less expensive than an iPad Air 2 but has a comparable 10.1-inch display and comes with the S Pen stylus.
Honestly, it's a pretty average tablet. But if you're looking for a reasonably-sized tablet with an S Pen for drawing or note-taking and the Note7's awesome S Pen features, the Tab A doesn't look half bad.

The tablet will be available in white or black from Oct. 28 on Samsung's website or at select retailers. It weighs 1.22 pounds and measures 0.32-inches thick.
The screen's got a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution and it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with an Exynos 7870 processor with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD card). It's also got a big beefy 7,300 mAh battery.
On the front is a 2-megapixel camera and on the back is an 8-megapixel shooter with autofocus.
These are all fine specs, but let's be real: You should only buy this if you're really into the S Pen features.
And for burned (sorry!) Note7 owners, the Tab A has many features of the discontinued phone, including the cool GIF maker, translation feature (hover over text) and the Samsung Notes app that consolidates several previous writing apps.
If all of these are compelling enough, by all means buy one.
